Metered AB is a company incorporated in Sweden (corporate ID 559211-8912).

This Privacy Policy covers visitors to www.plock.io (“Web”) and business customers who have registered with Metered and its affiliated companies (“Metered” or “We”). Capitalized terms used in this Privacy Policy shall have the meaning set forth herein.

Information We Collect from you

Primarily we collect information for the provision and improvement of our services to all of our customers.

We collect personal information, including but not limited to, your name, title, company, email address, phone number, address, location and browser information. You can choose not to provide us with certain information, but then you may not be able to register with us or to take advantage of some of our features. We may anonymize your personal information so that you cannot be individually identified, and provide that information to our partners. If you choose to sign up or login using your Google or Slack account, we will receive information of these and other details you might have listed there.

When you visit our website, we automatically collect information such as your device's Operating System (OS), Internet Protocol (IP) address, access times, browser type, language, and the website you visited before ours. We also gather data on how you use our services. This information is collected using “cookies” and “web beacons”. Cookies are small data filed stored on your website and web beacons are electronic images that may be used on our Web and in our emails. These help us improve our website and your experience by identifying popular areas and counting visits.

Metered retains your data while you are a customer and will delete your information within 30 days but not earlier than 15 days of either party’s termination of the Terms upon written request.

Information We collect from within the service

Please note that this Privacy Policy does not apply to any of Metered’s processing of personal information from within the service, provided by you in connection with your use of the service (“Customer Content”). The customer is the responsible for any Customer Content in the service and Metered only processes this data according to the customer’s instructions. If you have any questions about the data processing of Customer Content, please contact the customer-representative in the organization that has provided you with access to the service.

How We Use Information We Collect

We use the information we collect primarily to provide, maintain, protect and improve our current services and to develop new ones. We use personal information collected through our Web to provide a secure and functioning website, as well as to improve user experience on the Web. For example, we may use your information to:

  • Improve our services, our Web and how we operate our business;
  • Understand and enhance your experience using our solutions, Web and services;
  • Provide and deliver solutions and services you request;
  • Process, manage, complete, and account for transactions;
  • Provide customer support and respond to your requests, comments and inquiries;
  • Invite you to participate in customer research;
  • Create and manage online accounts you establish;
  • Send you related information, including confirmations, invoices, technical notices, updates, security alerts and support and administrative messages;
  • Communicate with you about promotions, upcoming events and news about products and services offered by Metered and our selected partners;
  • Comply with and enforce applicable legal requirements, industry standards, our policies, and our terms of use; and
  • Protect, investigate and deter against fraudulent, unauthorized or illegal activity.

 

Legal basis for processing

Fulfilment of contract

Some of the data processing described above is necessary for us to provide the services that you have requested and to fulfil what we have agreed in our General Terms and Conditions, found at https://plock.io/terms, or in another contract entered into between you and us. This includes processing that is necessary for providing our services, for giving access to the platform and website, communication with you, and to administer payments. If we do not have access to this data, we will not be able to provide all parts of the services to you.

Legitimate interest

Some of the data processing is based on out legitimate interest to use your information, which we believe we have reasonable cause to for using and which does not override your fundamental rights or interests. For example, we find that we have a legitimate interest in using certain data for managing business operations, enabling smooth website navigation, and improving our services. Furthermore, we may process your personal to send you newsletters, invite you to participate in customer research, and inform you of upcoming events, based on our legitimate interest to market our services.

Consent

Some data is only processed if you consent to us using the data for the proposed purpose. For example, we will not advertise our services to you on other websites and social media, unless you have okayed such use of your data.

Legal requirements

In addition to what is stated above, we may also need to collect and store information in order to comply with certain legal obligations we are subject to, such as retaining accounting information in accordance with the Swedish Accounting Act.

Data Transfer

Metered processes Personal Data in Sweden and the Republic of Ireland. Data stored and processed by the Metered platform may sometimes be moved between these zones (in a secure manner).

Before transferring data outside of the European Union, we will ensure adequate mechanisms to protect your data, for example by using the Standard Contractual Clauses as approved by the European Commission, or ensuring adherence with the EU-U.S Data Privacy Framework.

Data Security

We take several steps to keep your data secure, by making sure that both technical and organizational measures are in place to prevent unauthorized or unlawful access to data and against accidental loss or destruction of, or damage to, data. This includes, for example, access control, authorization control, entry control, and encryption procedures. We also ensure that our third-party suppliers provide adequate security measures.
It is your responsibility to protect your usernames and passwords to help prevent anyone from accessing or abusing your accounts and services. You should not use or reuse the same passwords you use with other accounts as your password for our services.

Sharing of Personal Information

Our Privacy Policy does not cover the independent data processing activities of third-party services. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of these third parties to understand their practices and how they handle your personal information. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these third parties, and we advise you to read their privacy policies carefully to ensure you are informed about how your data is being processed.

Information We Share

We do not share your personal information with third parties without your consent other than:

  • With third parties who work on our behalf, provided such third parties adhere to the data protection principles set out in the European Union Directive and/or Regulation on Data Protection or other applicable legislation, or enter into a written agreement with Metered requiring that the third party provides at least the same level of privacy protection as is required by such principles;
  • To comply with laws or to respond to lawful requests and legal process (provided that Metered will endeavor to notify you if Metered has received a lawful request for your information);
  • To protect the rights and property of Metered, our agents, customers and others including to enforce our agreements, policies and terms of use;
  • In an emergency, including to protect the personal safety of any person; and
  • For the purposes of a business deal (or negotiation of a business deal) involving sale or transfer of all or a part of our business or assets (business deals may include, for example, any merger, financing, acquisition, divestiture or bankruptcy transaction or proceeding).

Your Information Choices and Changes

You may opt out of receiving promotional emails from Metered by following the instructions in those emails. If you opt out, we may still send you non-promotional emails, such as emails about your Metered accounts or our ongoing business relationship. You may also send requests about your contact preferences, changes and deletions to your information including requests to opt-out of sharing your personal information with third parties by emailing support@metered.com. Metered will respond within thirty (30) days to any request to delete your information.

Your rights in regard to your personal information

You always have the following rights in relation to your personal data:

  • The right to access your data. You always have the right to understand what personal information we process about you and request a copy of your data.
  • The right to correct inaccurate information. You always have the right to correct or ask us to correct any inaccurate data about you.
  • The right to request erasure or restriction of your data. You have the right to have us erase or restrict the use of your data that is no longer needed for the purposes for which we collected the data. You also have a right to object to any processing you find unlawful or unnecessary for the informed purposes.
  • The right to data portability. When technically possible, you have the right to get your data transferred to another service.
To exercise these rights, email us at support@plock.io. We will respond within 30 days. Note that some data may be retained as required by law. We handle all requests, complaints, or concerns lawfully and transparently. If you believe your rights are violated, you can file a complaint with the Swedish Authority for Privacy Protection (https://www.imy.se) or your local supervisory authority.

Changes to This Policy

Metered may change this Policy from time to time. If we make any changes to this Policy, we will change the “Last Updated” date above. You agree that your continued use of our Services after such changes have been published to our Services will constitute your acceptance of such revised Policy.
